Sports Knowledge Station

Cia Vale, the second largest mining company in Brazil, runs a programme called Knowledge Stations, providing communities with social and sports facilities for education and training. Vale hired us to consult on technical and operational aspects for the Deodoro Knowledge Station in Rio de Janeiro. The programme involved adapting existing buildings and adding a new running track with spectator facilities, an Olympic swimming pool, accommodation, changing rooms, a gym and a complete physiotherapy support centre. The facilities are also designed to serve the community with after-school classes, medical attendance and leisure activities, while offering excellent sports training infrastructure.
